Tixel

Tixel is a small, experimental pixel canvas inspired by r/place.

Created by Schuyler Tan as a personal project to explore Golang and WebSockets.

Because this is an experimental project, it runs on limited free hosting, so performance and stability may vary.

Please be mindful when using Tixel:

• The server is very limited and runs on free hosting.
• Abusing the system (spam, flooding requests, etc.) doesn't harm the developer, it only harms the hosting service and may take the entire site down for everyone.
• Be respectful of the infrastructure so everyone can enjoy the canvas.

If you're planning things like:

• Large coordinated pixel wars.
• High-frequency placement or rapid updates.
• Stress-testing the canvas.

Please use r/place or Wplace instead.

Those platforms are designed to handle higher traffic and more intense activity.

Tixel is intentionally lightweight and limited, so for large projects, organized groups, or heavy usage, those alternatives will provide a better experience.

To keep Tixel fun and fair for everyone, please follow these rules:

1. No bots or automation.

   • Do not use bots, scripts, or automation tools.
   • Everything should be placed manually.

2. Respect the server.

   • Avoid spamming or sending excessive requests.
   • Don't try to exploit bugs or overload the system.

3. Keep content appropriate.

   The following are not allowed on the canvas:

   • 18+ or explicit content.
   • Hate speech or offensive symbols.
   • Harassment or targeted abuse.
   • Inappropriate or malicious links.
   • Suggestive or NSFW material.

4. Be respectful.

   • Tixel is a shared space, expect your pixels to be changed.
   • Don't take conflicts too seriously, it's part of the experience.

Tixel is just a small experimental project made for fun and learning.

There may be bugs, downtime, or limitations. Uptime is not assured.
